Barb has lived and raised her family in Northumberland County over the past 30 years. She and her husband have two, now grown, daughters. She began her career in finance working in the private sector for the first 15 years, then moving into the public sector where she started working for Northumberland County as the Accounting Manager. She then moved to Hamilton Township as the Treasurer/Deputy CAO, and in the past six years has been with Durham Region, currently as a Director of Finance.

Barb started her finance career with a Business Diploma from Loyalist College, then moved on to receive a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Laurentian University and her Certified General Accounting designation. She obtained her Master of Public Administration degree from Queen’s
University in 2021, of which the last year of the program was quickly converted to online studies due to the pandemic.

Barb has experience in community volunteering and has prior experience as a member of Board of Directors, including for the past 6 years on the Alzheimer Society Board of Directors as the Treasurer and President/Chair of the Board. She brings her knowledge from this area but also from her financial, management and policy background as well.

Barb feels tat this is a very worthy organization and looks forward to working with her fellow Board members and staff and being a part of all of the meaningful initiatives that help people within our community.
