Family Housing Resource Program
Diversion programs can reduce the number of families becoming homeless, the demand for emergency shelter support.
What is the family housing resource program?
The Family Housing Resource Program is a program to support families experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. The program is designed to support families to find safe accommodations other than emergency shelter or to maintain their current housing.
Who can we support in this program?
We are able to support families within this program, this means a parent(s), of any gender, who have one or more children in their care. There does not need to be any violence involved for the family to qualify for services.
What do we do?
Within the program we can offer supports such as exploring alternate safe shelter options, searching for housing, attending apartment viewings, mitigating conflict between landlords and tenants, and connecting with other agencies within Northumberland County.
